The words Modern Farmhouse Family Room can sound a bit trendy this days. Trust us, the Modern Farmhouse style does not have to feel that way…in fact, for this project, the Modern Farmhouse style has evolved into more of a Modern Tudor or even English Cottage feel!
If you love the Modern Farmhouse look but want timeless pieces, you’re in the right place. This space blends unique and classic elements perfectly. From the empire shade lamp to the leather chair in the reading corner, every detail ties together. The show-stopping blue sectional is perfect for a big family.
Our favorite features of this cozy and inviting modern farmhouse family room include, the dramatic wingback chairs, the blue slipcovered sectional (which is upholstered in high performance, family friendly, crypton…perfect for a family of seven), the gorgeous, soft, and high performance neutral rug, the new cast stone fireplace surround and mantle, and the rust colored details.

Before this family room space was not utilized properly. It is a huge room, but the furniture was too small and too crammed together. By setting the tone and grounding the space with a very large sectional and rug, we were able to create a family room capable of sitting this family of seven, plus some friends, while still feeling cozy and welcoming. We also replaced the dated and worn mantle with a statement cast stone piece from Stone Mountain Castings.

A note about PHI Home: Some of the products linked in this post are to-the-trade pieces from our shop, PHI Home. Typically to-the-trade pieces are purchased exclusively by trade professionals (i.e. interior designers) at wholesale, and then resold to their clients at a markup. We’re delighted to extend access to our favorite trade furniture and décor to everyone, regardless of whether you’re our client or not. Should you require a different size or color variation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Prices at PHI Home are never above the internet minimum advertised price “IMAP” (set by the manufacturer) plus shipping. By using the coupon code PEGGYSAYSMIX, you can enjoy a discount off the IMAP pricing. Moreover, if you come across a lower price from another online retailer, kindly drop us an email at info@peggyhaddadinteriors.com, and we’ll gladly match that price (remember, our pricing includes threshold shipping).
