A Blue and White New Traditional Home with Southern Charm // Project Grandmillennial Home Tour

A Southern-inspired saltbox new traditional home filled with florals, antiques, and blue-and-white charm, blending classic design with cozy, livable touches.

Although this beautiful salt box home isn’t nestled in the South, it was designed as a love letter to the warmth, character, and elegance of Southern interiors. The result is a fresh take on classic design, combining Grandmillennial style with cozy comfort, personal touches, and an abundance of blue. This is more than just a pretty home—it’s a thoughtful blend of old and new, rich in textures, patterns, and personality. Call it a New Traditional home, or we also like to call it ‘Grandmillennial’!

So, What Exactly is Grandmillennial Style?

Also known as Granny Chic or New Traditional, Grandmillennial style is all about embracing the elegance of the past—floral prints, antique furniture, chintz fabrics—while mixing in a fresh, youthful twist. It’s the perfect style for anyone who loves the charm of vintage-inspired interiors but wants a space that still feels relevant and livable. Think English country house style meets curated comfort.

Some hallmarks of this aesthetic: Antique furniture and heirloom-quality pieces | Floral wallpaper and classic patterns | Chinoiserie décor and blue-and-white ceramics | Fringe, tassels, and pleated lampshades | Eclectic decorative accents layered with care | A mix of bold color palettes and soft, cozy textiles

Kitchen & Dining Room
Budget-Friendly Charm

We kicked off the transformation in the kitchen and dining area, guided by our client’s unwavering love for blue and white decor. A mix of white cabinetry, blue marble subway tile, and traditional elements like shaker cabinets and brass hardware created a space that’s equal parts stylish and functional. And the best part? This kitchen renovation was completely budget-friendly, proving you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a classic look!

In the dining room, we leaned into traditional with a floral wool rug and timeless lighting for a space that feels elevated yet welcoming. The entire area is grounded in Grandmillennial interior design principles—layered, nostalgic, and made for gathering.

Family Room
Traditional Meets Cozy

The family room brings warmth through wood accents, a soft vintage-style area rug, and a channeled sofa that anchors the space beautifully.

We added in bobbin chairs, a mix of antique and contemporary accessories, and comfortable seating that feels both inviting and timeless. The layered textures and rich colors create a cozy vintage living room vibe that speaks to the heart of Grandmillennial style.

Living Room
Whimsical & Elegant

The formal living room is perhaps the most expressive space in the home. Covered in coastal blue wallpaper (from the one and only Serena & Lily) with accents like an antique gold mirror, traditional art, and classic furniture silhouettes, this room tells a complete story.

Primary Bedroom
Warm & Oh-So-Inviting

Every detail in this master bedroom was thoughtfully chosen to create a restful, elegant space and we couldn’t be happier about the final design. We brought in a mix of vintage-inspired pieces—like the mirrored nightstands and carved bedframe—paired with classic blue-and-white accents and velvet wingbacks by the fireplace. The floral rug grounds the room and ties the whole palette together, adding warmth and a touch of whimsy.
