Peggy’s Primary Bathroom Reveal // Before and After

Yay for another before and after, this time it is our primary bathroom!

Our primary bathroom was the most significant part of our full home renovation. Besides the vanity (which we kept to save money, but I also loved the vintage look of the warm oak), it was a complete gut. 

Function was just as important as beauty in this renovation. Every drawer, shelf, and tray was thoughtfully considered to make daily routines feel effortless. As featured in The Spruce’s roundup of smart, stylish organizers, this bathroom captures that sweet spot between pretty and practical — hidden storage that looks intentional, woven accents that warm up the crisp finishes, and details that make even small moments feel calm and composed.

That balance of utility and serenity is what makes this space feel like a true retreat — bright, layered, and personal, without ever feeling too polished to live in.

One of my favorite aspects of the new design is the vertical shiplap lines mirroring the vertical tile in the shower.  The statuario marble….no words except it is my absolute favorite thing in our entire house! I also love how the herringbone pattern of the tile floor turned out. And of course, the stand alone tub with the beaded chandelier, both in front of the bay window, is a highlight and focal point. I wish you could see and feel how the natural light pours in during the morning hours. It is magical!

That attention to both beauty and functionality even caught the eye of The Spruce, where this bathroom was featured in their roundup of smart, stylish organizers. Thoughtful details—like concealed storage, trays that keep daily essentials neat, and woven accents that soften all that marble—make the space just as practical as it is serene.

The mix of warm and cool neutral tones, as well as old and new, make this primary bathroom feel organic and interesting. It truly is retreat for us, and very much enjoyed.
